As founder and CEO of Granite Legal Systems, Jeff Hewett has expertise in developing, implementing and supporting technology solutions for top companies in the industry. His 20 year career in the legal industry includes systems selection and implementation projects, customized litigation systems development and large scale discovery project management. Jeff has extensive experience identifying cost effective technical solutions for difficult discovery problems. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional and has authored several litigation support articles and product reviews.
Throughout his career Jeff has specialized in creative solutions to technically challenging litigation problems. Granite Legal Systems provides the opportunity to present those solutions to the wider legal industry.
Jeff holds a BA in Computer Science from the University of Kansas and earned his JD from Washburn University.
Shawn Edwards has over 30 years of experience in technology and 18 years of experience in managing complex litigation and litigation support projects. She specializes in strategic planning and management of large eDiscovery projects and developing appropriate litigation database solutions. Her expertise includes data reconciliation, design and maintenance of litigation support systems and electronic discovery systems.
She has a demonstrated ability in creating more effective departments by identifying workflow efficiencies, enhancing the quality of work product and controlling expenses. Prior to joining Granite Legal Systems, Shawn served as Chief Operations Officer for a regional litigation support vendor and Senior Project Manager with Baker Robbins & Company.
Shawn earned her JD from South Texas College of Law, her BA from the University of West Florida and is admitted to the Texas Bar.
David Gustafson has over 20 years of experience in the information management industry and has been providing strategic guidance, technical advisory, and project management support within Granite Legal Systems for the past 10 years. His expertise includes not only record retention processes and workflow technology but also electronic evidence collection and review technology as well as application requirements, analysis and solution implementation.
David’s career experience includes extensive discovery management with a focus on the preservation, collection, review and production of electronic records responsive to regulatory and litigation requirements.
David earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s of Business Administration from The University of St. Thomas.
David Neff has over 16 years of experience providing eDiscovery consulting, dispute project management, and forensic risk mitigation guidance to Fortune 100 corporations and AM LAW Top50 law firms. David has deep experience in developing, implementing, and advocating consistent application of eDiscovery program policies while adhering to regulatory guidelines, privacy protection rules, and data export compliance regulations.
Prior to joining Granite, David held a leadership role within the legal department at a major oil and gas corporation and applied his eDiscovery fluency in developing programs that leveraged systems, stakeholder education, and human capital development to achieve efficiencies and mitigate risk in litigation support.
David received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.
Cheryl Lawson has over 13 years of experience in eDiscovery. Her technical expertise spans all phases of electronic data discovery, from collection through culling, processing, quality control and production. She specializes in creating, implementing and managing complex litigation databases. Cheryl is expert in most eDiscovery applications, including eCollector, Relativity, Brainspace, Nuix, LAW, iConect, IPRO Suite, Ringtail, Attenex, Autonomy, Summation and Concordance. She is also highly proficient in MS Access and SQL.
Prior to her tenure in eDiscovery, Cheryl enjoyed a successful career as a IT consultant, assisting clients with network infrastructure issues, deployments, data conversions and migrations, training and system documentation.
